An (unstructured) Ode to Friday

So happy it's Friday!  Friday is like the most magical day of the week! Friday reeks of possibilities, fun, and freedom.  Every pending file is safely tucked into a drawer and it seems like the  hands of the clock are taking their sweet time before hitting 5pm! Oh the longing, the despair, the wait!

While all of this is happening your boss is probably thinking of that email you promised to respond to but haven't but being the good sport that he is he decides to let you off!

The numbers on your 1988 retro Casio watch finally changes to 5.00pm and you jump up snapping your fingers and exchanging your flats for your heels, your nude lipgloss is replaced by the 'girl around town' shade of lipstick from Mac.  The weekend is here.....just two days they say but by God you'll rock it like its a full lifetime!

Yeah I know I should have amped the volume up some more with some skull pendants, shiny spikes, black fingerless gloves and thigh-high black S&M boots but I had to work with what I had!!!!

Business in Front and Party at the Back

Woke up this morning to cloudy skies and leaves swirling around in the wind, for me it was a welcome relief from the fierceness of the sun and the skin scorching, hair singeing  heat that we experience here in Nigeria almost on a daily basis.

I decided to go double frill today.  I whipped out my graphic print peplum in black and white (sooooooo this season) and paired it with a red skirt which looks businesslike in front but with frills at the back.

Denim, Pleats and a scarf

I've had this colour block pleat skirt for a while tucked somewhere in my closet waiting to be worn. It wasn't my fault it wasn't getting any action as the waist was a tadbit too tight.  Thanks to weight-loss which has wittled down my waistline by a few inches I was glad when I found out I could do the zip all the way to the top!

I bought the skirt like two seasons or so ago when pleats and colour blocking were all the rage, thank God I'm not that into trends so wearing it wasn't a problem. 

I decided to wear it to work last Friday paired with my trusty ol' denim shirt and a scarf (which I forgot to knot round my neck). I cinched my waist in with a wide belt and work my black spiked kitten heel sandals........
